Qowiyul Jismi 2.0

On the 25th of February 2017, JASSA organized an event called “Qowiyul Jismi 2.0”. The phrase “Qowiyul Jismi” means a healthy body in Arabic, and the main objective of the event was to educate the participants on ways to keep themselves healthy.

The registration for the participants began at 6.00 a.m. until 6.30 a.m. inside the seminar room at Block A. When the rain finally ceased at around 7.00 a.m., the participants then went for a light jog around the compound of Kolej Sakura, but it did not last long as it began to rain again shortly after. After carrying out Dhuha prayers and having their breakfast, the participants were split into a total of six teams. Each team was given ten minutes to come up with a name, slogan and cheer for their team.

After that, the participants played an ice-breaking game, called “Bola Beracun” in which they are required to shout out their names and nicknames every time they received the ball, and the one who failed to catch the ball will have to say the name of the person before her. It was a good way to allow the participants to get to know one another better.

Around 8.30 a.m., the first main activity of the event was carried out. Named “Perigi Beracun”, its gameplay was similar to that of “Bola Beracun”, however, instead of the calling out their names, the participants of two teams will try to eliminate the players from the opposite team by throwing the ball towards them. In order to save themselves from being eliminated, the participants had to avoid from getting into contact with the ball, as even a mere brush was enough to make them lose.

At 10.00 a.m., the second main activity was carried out. This time, it was an explorace where the participants were required to find three checkpoints located at various locations in the college building. The locations were not disclosed because it was part of the challenge given to the participants. Each checkpoint had a task for the participants to complete. The team that managed to finish all the tasks at the checkpoints the fastest will be declared the winner.

The closing activity of the event was a prize giving ceremony, with Cik Noorfarida, the Felo of the college, being the respected guest. She gave a short speech, jokingly mentioning how curious she was when she heard the participants running around in front of her apartment house, and wondered what they were looking for. She also said that she was impressed by the program and urged more students to join it if it was organized again in the future. Cik Noorfarida was then invited to hand the prizes to all the winners of the event.

Qowiyul Jismi 2.0 came to a close at 11.30 a.m., with the participants being reminded to sign out before they leave.
