SAKURA SPORT FESTIVAL 2017

 
Sakura Sport Festival 2017 was held for two days from the 25th until the 26th of November 2017. The event was held this year at Pusat Sukan UNIMAS with over 723 participants from different residential colleges in UNIMAS.

The sports event that were competed are netball, volleyball, basketball, badminton and futsal.

On the first day, the registration for the participants starts at 7.40 a.m. sharp while the games started at 8.05a.m simultaneously for all the sport events.



Although it rained for a while during the event, the participants were still giving their best to finish their respective games throughout the whole time.








The games ended around 4.30p.m. on the first day. The next day, on the 26th of November, the event was resumed with the finals of three games, badminton, volleyball and futsal(L). A great number of audiences turned up to the event to support the players and athletes.











The closing ceremony was held at Panggung Gemilang, Kolej Cempaka on the 29th of November 2017. The event started at 7.30 p.m. with registration of the audiences and participants.

The closing ceremony started with the presentation of a montage prepared by Sakura Editorial Board to showcase the highlights of the two day event. Audiences were cheering loudly as they were happy to see familiar faces on the screen and reminisce the days of the sports events. The program kicked off with a special modern dance performance.




The program continued with a short speech from the program director, Siti Syazwana binti Mohd Nasir. Sakura College's very own principal, Cik Nor Ain binti Hj. Musa also did her speech and officiated the ceremony. After that, an acoustic performance was performed by a singer group, Melody. Audiences who came sang along to the songs and were enjoying the whole performance.


After the performance, the prize giving ceremony was held to hand out the medals to respective winners of each category.

SAKURA ON FIRE

Rabu, 15 November 2017 - Kolej Sakura telah mengadakan satu aktiviti tahunan yang sangat penting bagi semua penghuni kolej Sakura iaitu Sakura on Fire ataupun lebih dikenali sebagai Fire Drill. Program ini diadakan di parking blok C. Latihan kebakaran ini merupakan anjuran Exco Disiplin dan Keselamatan Kolej Sakura dengan kerjasama pihak Bomba dan Penyelamat Kota Samarahan. Program ini telah melibatkan semua penguni Kolej Sakura seramai 600 orang dalam menjayakan program Sakura on Fire ini. Menurut saudari Izzaratul Iqma, mantan Timbalan Ecxo Disiplin dan Keselamatan Kolej Sakura selaku pengarah program Sakura on Fire, objektif utama program ini adalah memberi pendedahan asas kepada warga Kolej Sakura tentang tindakan yang perlu diambil apabila berlakunya kebakaran selain membentuk kesedaran dalam kalangan warga Kolej Sakura mengenai kepentingan sentiasa berwaspada dan bersedia menghadapi sebarang risiko yang boleh berlaku pada bila-bila masa. 


Program ini bermula tepat pada pukul 2.15 pagi dengan siren kecemasan dibunyikan. Para penghuni Kolej Sakura bergerak ke tapak pengumpulan mengikut laluan kecemasan yang telah diberitahu. Sementara menunggu bangunan dikosongan, kesemua ketua apartment diminta melaporkan jumlah ahli setiap rumah kepada AJK yang bertugas.

 

Setelah selesai melaporkan bilangan ahli rumah, demostrasi menyelamatkan mangsa daripada pihak Bomba dan Penyelamat Kota Samarahan dan sedikit perkongsian daripada pihak bomba. Pihak Bomba turut menyentuh mengenai pergerakan warga Kolej Sakura yang agak lambat untuk berkumpul di kawasan yang telah ditetapkan. Menurut wakil Bomba yang bertugas pada kali ini warga kolej mengambil masa selama 18 minit untuk mengosongkan bangunan. Menurut beliau, pergerakan dalam keadaan kecemasan perlulah pantas kerana sekiranya berlakuya kebakaran sebenar masa yang perlu diambil hanyalah lima minit. Selain itu, pihak Bomba juga menyatakan bahawa penghuni perlu bergerak lebih pantas ke kawasan berkumpul mengikut laluan yang betul, mematikan semua bekalan elektrik yang sedang digunakan dan pintu perlu dikunci bagi mengelak api merebak dengan cepat

 

Seterusnya ialah penerangan penggunaan Alat Pemadam Api dan demostrasi penggunaan  Alat Pemadam Api oleh wakil pihak Bomba. Para penghuni Kolej Sakura juga tutut berpeluang menggunakan Alat Pemadam Api untuk tujuan latihan. Program tamat pada jam 3.45 pagi selepas sesi penyampaian cenderahati dari pada felo Kolej Sakura, Dr Nor Hasmaliana Abdul Manas kepada wakil pihak Bomba dan Penyelamat Kota Samarahan. Diharapkan dengan program Sakura on Fire ini dapat meningkatkan lagi kesedaran para penghuni tentang keselamatan mereka semasa berlakunya kebakaran.

Program Mahasiswa UNIMAS Hidup Penuh Erti - Say No to Drug Abuse

13 November 2017 - Bersempena sambutan Bulan Kaunseling & Psikologi UNIMAS, satu program dengan kerjasama kelab PEMADAM, telah diadakan di Bilik Seminar Kolej Sakura pada pukul 8 pagi hingga 12 tengahari. Program ini berobjektifkan untuk menyahut cabaran Misi Mahasiswa Bebas Dadah@Hidup Penuh Erti di peringkat universiti. Selain itu, program ini juga bertujuan untuk mendidik mahasiswa dan mahawasiswi UNIMAS tentang bahaya penyalahgunaan dadah.

                Program ini dimulakan dengan satu taklimat daripada Puan Debra, pegawai kaunseling UNIMAS yang telah memberi pengenalan mengenai penyalahgunaan dadah dan bahan. Beliau telah menerangkan kesan-kesan pengunaan dadah dan memberi pendedahan mengenai jenis-jenis dadah yang sering digunakan oleh mahasiswa dan mahasiswi seperti syabu, air ketum, ubat-ubatan dan dadah sintetik.



                Seterusnya, program diteruskan lagi dengan permainan 'jigsaw puzzle' yang mendedahkan peserta dengan jenis-jenis dadah yang terkenal malah digunakan oleh sesetengah mahasiswa dan mahasiswi universiti seluruh Malaysia. Seterusnya, para peserta diminta untuk meyelidik kesan-kesan dadah tersebut kepada diri, keluarga, masyarakat dan negara. Antara kesan-kesan yang dibentangkan adalah pengguna akan mengalami halusinasi, hilang ingatan dan juga menggugat kententeraman rumah tangga malah negara. Bukan itu sahaja, peserta juga diminta untuk mengeluarkan idea kreatif mereka untuk menghasilkan sajak, puisi, pantun, malah lakonan sketsa dan lagu mengenai jenis dadah.



               Para peserta seterusnya bermain permainan bisikan makmum dan permainan ini bertujuan untuk mengingatkan peserta supaya sentiasa berwaspada dan peka terhadap isu-isu dadah di dalam kawasan kampus. Program diakhiri dengan refleksi dari para peserta melalui lukisan yang menggambarkan kesan-kesan dadah kepada individu.



Smart Caliph Camp 2.0



Held for three days; 28th, 29th and 30th of October 2017 at Kg Sibau Rumbau, Simunjan, Exco Pembangunan Sahsiah Kolej Sakura with the cooperation of Yayasan Salam Sarawak and HIKMAH Kuching branch held a program called “Smart Caliph Camp 2.0”. This program is the second program that has been implemented to keep track of the participants involved in the Muhammad's Generation Camp program in the last semester.

On the first day; October 28, 2017, the committees arrived at Kg Sibau Rumbau at 10 a.m. and welcomed by the villagers. Subsequently, a simple briefing before the commencement of the activity was presented by Ustaz Husien, which is da’ie of Simunjan region. Then, the committees immediately cooked lunch and performed zuhr prayer.


Activities started upon the arrival of participants from several nearby villages. Activity starts with LDK 1: Ice Breaking which gives participants and committees an opportunity to get acquainted with each other. The participants are then divided into groups based on the pieces of animal pictures and each piece should be combined to get a perfect picture. Right after that, Slot Kreatif ‘Kenali Dirimu’ is held where participants drew their ambitions and presented them in front of everyone. Activity goes on with Slot 1: Meniti Alam Manusia that touches on the purpose of the participants' life as a human being. 



On the second day, the committees are divided into three teams, namely ‘painting team’, ‘cooking team’ and ‘activity team’. Each team went to the designated place and started the task given. For activity team, the activity with the participants started with Slot 2: Story Telling. This slot tells the story of the Anbiya' such as Muhammad and Ibrahim. Then, some tele match activities are held before the closing ceremony took place.






Around 12.00 p.m., everyone went to the closing ceremony. The honored guests are as follows;
- UNIMAS Representative as well as volunteer from Yayasan Salam,
- Ketua Kampung Sibau Rumbau, Simunjan,
- Director of Smart Caliph Camp 2.0, Sitti Aishah binti Najamudin
- HIKMAH Representative, Ustaz Haji Muhd Husein bin Haji Mustafa, and
- Yayasan Salam Representative, Mrs. Zakiah Haji Ahmat


After a short opening speech from Ms. Sitti Aishah, followed by Mr. Sebly bin Hassan and Ustaz Haji Muhd Husein bin Haji Mustafa, a speech from Prof Madya Dr. Thelaha bin Haji Masri which later officiating the closing ceremony of the Smart Caliph Camp 2.0 with each of them congratulating the committees for a successful program. The ceremony continued with a prize-giving ceremony to 60 participants and ‘Tokoh Smart Caliph’ is awarded to Syafiqa Sheera binti Mohamad. Then, director of Smart Caliph Camp 2.0, Sitti Aishah binti Najamudin is invited to the stage once again to hand a token of appreciation to all the honored guests. The ceremony came to a close at around 2 p.m. with everyone gathered for a commemorative group photo.





On the last day, the program came to an end at 12.00 p.m. after gotong-royong and post-mortem, with the villagers saying goodbye to the committees before returning to UNIMAS.
