Sakura@Kenyalang: Opening Ceremony

One of the most-awaited event of every semester, bazaar with which this semester it slipped up into the Japanese theme, thus ‘Sakura@Kenyalang Festival' has officially opened on 23rd of November 2016 during the appropriate ceremony held that honourably attended by not only the principal of Sakura College, Miss Siti Nor Ain binti Hj Musa, but also headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UNIMAS, Professor Mohd Fadzil bin Abd Rahman.

The ceremony was started at 8:30 PM by which the arrival of the VIPs was ushered by the appointed committees that donned the Sarawak and Sabah traditional costumes and also Japanese traditional clothing such as ‘yukata’. The event started with the singing to the UNIMAS-Ku Gemilang anthem as well as Sakura College official song, Tekad Sakura.

An invited performance of mini orchestra was the first to lighten up the atmosphere at the Main Site of Sakura@Kenyalang Stage that located at the Block C car park, of which the audiences could be seen clearly engulfed in the melancholic sound presented by the orchestra group. Next up was a performance by representatives of Anak Seni Sakura (AKSARA) with their Japanese-inspired dance. The followed-up session was served for the official speeches as to officiate the Sakura@Kenyalang Festival by Miss Siti Nor Ain and Professor Mohd Fadzil. 

The official speeches marked the official opening of the Sakura@Kenyalang Festival.
