SAKURA@KENYALANG : Pameran dan Pemeriksaan Kesihatan

On the 17th of March 2018, “Pameran Dan Pemeriksaan kesihatan" was held in conjunction of this year’s edition of Sakura@Kenyalang 2018. The event was held at the Student’s Pavilion. This event was held simply to promote healthy lifestlyle to the public besides giving out free health screenings and personality tests.

 

The event was filled with professionals and among them was the Counselling and Student Welfare Unit(UniK). UniK was in charged of the psychological and mental health department during this event. Guests were excited to try out the different tests provided by the unit. There were 8 tests provided and the participants were free to choose as much as they want. The tests included Depression Anxiety Stress Scales(DASS), Colour Personality Test, Effective Way of Learning Test and more. Once the test was done, the counselors will go to the participants personally and explain what the results says. Many of the students were excited at the unexpected results.

            Besides the counseling sessions, there were also free health screenings given. Participants were told to fill in forms on basic information before handing it to the nurse in charged. The nurse will then proceed to check the participants blood pressure and glucose level. Some of the participants were scared at first but were fine towards the end of the session when the nurses calmed them down with soothing advice. After the mini-checkup with the nurses, participants will be sent to the doctors for further health evaluation.

            Lastly, HIV test screening was also provided. Students who came were eager to know everything on the virus. The test can be done within 30 minutes. The event ended at 12pm sharp. A hearty congratulations to everyone who participated in this event.
