SAKURA TALENT SHOW

On the 9^th of March 2018, the first of the two-day event of Sakura Talent Show was held. The event took place at the Central Teaching Facilities 1 (CTF1). Sakura Talent Show was held simply to showcase the talented students of Sakura College. The registration began around 7.30 p.m.

With the arrival of Sakura College’s very own principal, Cik Siti Nor Ain binti Haji Musa, the event started at 8.30 p.m. Two MCs began the night by cracking a few jokes that made everyone in the hall laugh. The line up of the performance were:

1.       A beautiful rendition of Love Me Like You Do by the duo singer, Melody

2.       Singing performance of Agnes Monica’s Teruskanlah by Farah

3.       A group dance by the ABCD

4.       Stephanie’s solo performance of two beautiful Chinese songs

5.        Nur Afiqah’s cover of Payung Teduh

6.       A three-membered dancer group, Dream Team dancing to Bollywood music

7.       Indian group dance by a group called “Fusion Girls”

The audiences were enthusiastic as loud cheering and laughters can be heard in the hall throughout the night. The night ended with a token of appreciation given to the guest judges that night.

The second and final day of Sakura Talent Show was held the next day, 10^th March 2018 at Bilik Seminar of Block A. The registration session began at 7.15 p.m. until 8.15 p.m. Miss NoorFarida, Sakura College’s Felo was present that night together with guest judge, Nur Nadiana binti Sabriee, Exco of “Akademik dan Kesejahteraan” MPP Unimas.

The night kicked off with a speech from the program’s director, Joana Peter. Next, a fashion show session by beautiful contestants. Amazing choices of clothes were seen throughout the runway. Six contestants participated in this fashion show. In between the shows, a modern dance performance by Xpresso Club was done to showcase the club’s modern dance division

The fashion show contestants were shocked with a sudden twist game with “Mix and Match” where they were required to use the props given and style it on the runway. Laughters can be heard in the room when the contestants used funny props but still keeping a straight face while walking the runway. The night continued with another showcase from the Xpresso Club, but this time a traditional dance performance.  After the traditional dance showcase, a beautiful group singing performance by the Xpresso Club serenading the room with amazing mash-up songs. Audiences were singing along and cheering enthusiastically at the performance.

Miss Farida together with the program director gave the guest judge a souvenier as a token of appreciation. Next, Miss Farida gave away all the prizes to the winners. The result were as follows:

The night ended with a photo session by Sakura Editorial Board.
