Forum Istimewa

16th March 2018 - We make a living by what we
get, but we make a life by what we give. “Winston Churchill”. The 16th of March
2018 marked the 1st day of the very much anticipated “Forum Istimewa” organized
by Kolej Sakura. Being one of the first programme in UNIMAS, our committee proud
to serve community this disability awareness talk.
The ceremony was started at 8:30 pm by
which the arrival of the VIPs was ushered by the appointed committees. Our invited guests were consists of Jee Kuak An
and Dayang Aisah binti Awang Taha, which both of them were final year students.
Sun Wan Tiong, was a second year student. All of them were from faculty of
language.
The mission is to meet up with the blind students and community to
discuss on how daily tools could assist to overcome some of the challenges
faced by the blind students and helping them in studies become more interesting
and facinating to them.
They need an assistive
technology tool. Some apps can help them to improve themselves through ICT and
assistive technologies training. Assistive technology refers to software and
hardware designed to assist disabled people with everyday work and home tasks.

The event ended at 10.30 p.m. with a commemoration photo with the participants and the Forum Istimewa representatives.
